BASES DEL III PREMIO INTERNACIONAL DE COMPOSICIÓN “JESÚS VILLA- ROJO” PARA CLARINETE Y CONJUNTO DE CÁMARA – AÑO 2010

LA FUNDACIÓN SIGLO FUTURO de Guadalajara (ESPAÑA)  con el patrocinio, apoyo y colaboración de la CAJA DE AHORROS BBK,  promueven la creación musical entre la juventud y convocan la 3ª Edición del PREMIO INTERNACIONAL DE COMPOSICIÓN “JESÚS VILLA- ROJO” para clarinete y conjunto de cámara, de acuerdo con las siguientes:

B A S E S:

1ª – Dada la naturaleza del Concurso, las composiciones serán para clarinete y conjunto de cámara (clarinete + trío). El clarinete podrá ser de las características deseadas por el compositor: Clarinete en si b, clarinete en la, clarinete bajo, clarinete piccolo en mi b, corno di bassetto, etc. o combinando los distintos instrumentos aunque para un solo intérprete. El conjunto de cámara estará formado por tres instrumentos elegidos libremente, de manera que los intérpretes sean cuatro en total.
2ª – Las obras serán inéditas, no estrenadas en público o grabadas, ni premiadas en otro concurso, con una duración de entre 10 y 15 minutos.
3ª – Podrán participar los compositores de cualquier nacionalidad, nacidos después del 31 de diciembre de 1970, con una o varias obras si lo desean.
4ª – La fecha tope de presentación de las obras será el 30 de noviembre de 2010. Las obras deberán ir firmadas o con seudónimo y serán remitidas a una de las siguientes direcciones:

5ª – Junto a cada partitura, el compositor enviará en sobre cerrado, los siguientes datos: Dirección actual, teléfono, e-mail, fotocopia del Documento de Identificación o Pasaporte, Curriculum Vitae y una fotografía.  Enviará también una declaración personal en la que certifique que la obra es inédita, no estrenada, ni premiada en otro concurso.  Exclusivamente, solo se abrirá el sobre correspondiente a la obra premiada.
6ª – El III Premio Internacional de Composición “Jesús Villa -Rojo”, otorgará un premio de 6000 Euros y no afectará a los derechos intelectuales del autor. El premio no podrá ser declarado desierto  ni dividido entre dos o más concursantes.  
7ª – Conocida la partitura premiada, la Fundación Siglo Futuro iniciará las gestiones oportunas para el estreno de la obra,  dentro de sus actividades culturales del año 2011. Con este motivo, el compositor facilitará gratuitamente los materiales correspondientes de cada instrumento.
8ª – La Fundación Siglo Futuro publicará la partitura premiada en EMEC (Editorial de Música Española Contemporánea) de Madrid, siempre que el autor no tenga compromiso de exclusividad con otro editor. En toda publicación deberá mencionarse el III Premio Internacional de Composición “Jesús Villa- Rojo” de la Fundación Siglo Futuro de Guadalajara  (España)
9ª – La Fundación Siglo Futuro gestionará la difusión de la obra premiada por medio de otros conciertos o grabaciones.
10ª – La Fundación Siglo Futuro, elegirá un Jurado Internacional compuesto por prestigiosas personalidades del mundo de la música y  presidido por el compositor, Jesús Villa -Rojo. El Jurado emitirá su veredicto en los primeros días del año 2011. Las decisiones del Jurado serán inapelables, y le corresponde, también, resolver cualquier situación no prevista en las Bases.
11ª – Las obras no premiadas podrán ser retiradas de la Fundación Siglo Futuro o solicitando su devolución, antes del 31 de enero de 2011. Pasado dicho plazo, las obras serán destruidas.
12ª – Por el hecho de participar, los concursantes aceptan íntegramente estas Bases, así como las decisiones del Jurado. No obstante, para cualquier diferencia que hubiere de ser dirimida por vía judicial, las partes renuncian el propio fuero y se someten expresamente a los Juzgados y Tribunales de Guadalajara (España).

RULES FOR THE 3nd INTERNATIONAL COMPOSITION COMPETITION “JESÚS VILLA-ROJO” FOR CLARINET AND CHAMBER GROUP   

The SIGLO FUTURO FOUNDATION in Guadalajara (Spain), promotes supported and sponsored by BBK Savings Bank, creativity in music amongst the young and is thus holding the 3nd edition of the International Composition Competition “Jesús Villa-Rojo” for clarinet and chamber group under the conditions below:

  • 1.     According to the characteristics of  the competition, compositions will be for clarinet and chamber group (clarinet and trio). Composers can choose the type of clarinet they desire: clarinet in B flat, clarinet in A, bass clarinet, clarinet in E flat, corno di bassetto, etc or a combination of the former, with the condition that there is only one performer. The chamber group will include three instruments of the author’s free choice, so that there are four players all told.
  • 2.     The works must be original, of a length between 10 and 15 minutes, unpublished, and must not have been played at a public concert, broadcasted by radio or TV or recorded or awarded a prize in another competition.
  • 3.     The Competition is open to composers of any nationality born after December 31st 1970. Competitors can take part with one or several compositions.
  • 4.     Deadline is November 30th 2010. The scores (identified either by the composer’s name and signature or a pseudonym), must be mailed to one of the following addresses:

  • 5.     Together with each score, composers must send the following material in a sealed envelope:

    • ·       Personal details including current home address, phone number, e-mail address, photocopy of identity card or passport
    • ·       Curriculum vitae  and a  photograph
    • ·       Formal declaration stating that the score has not been published, played at a public concert, recorded or awarded a prize in a previous competition.

Only the envelope accompanying the winning score will be opened.

  • 6.     The 3nd International Composition Competition “Jesús Villa-Rojo” will award a prize of 6000€ which will not affect the composer’s copyright. The prize will always be awarded, but there will only be one prize-winner.
  • 7.     Once the prize has been assigned, the Siglo Futuro Foundation will make the necessary arrangements to have the winning composition performed for the first time within their 2011 programme. At this point the composer will be required to provide the material needed for each instrument free of charge.
  • 8.     The winning composition will be published for the Siglo Futuro Foundation by EMEC (Spanish Contemporary Music Publishing House) in Madrid, except in the case of existing exclusive rights of the author with other editors. If the winning composer gets his piece published at a publishing house, the score must bear the following: “The composer was, with this piece of music, the prize-winner at the 3st International Composition Competition “Jesús Villa-Rojo”, held by the Siglo Futuro Foundation in Guadalajara (Spain).
  • 9.     The Siglo Futuro Foundation will make the necessary arrangements leading to the diffusion of the winning composition through subsequent concerts or recordings.
  • 10. The Siglo Futuro Foundation will choose an International Jury made up of members of clear and established  recognition in the music world ,chaired by the composer Jesús Villa-Rojo. The Jury’s verdict will be given within the first fortnight of January 2011. The Jury’s judgement is final. It will be the Jury’s duty to deal with any situation not mentioned in the present rules.
  • 11. The non-winning scores will be available until 31st  January 2011 at the Siglo Futuro Foundation office for those composers who wish to have them returned. The remaining scores will then be disposed of.
  • 12. Taking part in the competition implies the unconditional acceptance by the competitor of the stated rules, as well as the Jury’s decisions. However, in case of contention only the courts in Albacete (Spain) will have jurisdiction.
